Edelweiss Recommendation
A mecca for gambling and partying, Las Vegas is also a great golfing destination with a wide choice of superb golf courses on offer. However, this comes at a price, with green fee rates set at the high end. A more affordable option is to take advantage of the twilight rates (afternoon) or to visit Las Vegas during the off-peak season.
Golf History
The 1990s ushered in the era of Las Vegas as the family-friendly “City of Entertainment”. Since then, Las Vegas has added another attraction to its ample list of pastimes: golf. Some fifty golf courses are within a 30 to 40 minute drive of the Las Vegas Strip and range from standard public courses to highly exclusive facilities. The latter are designed to cater to high rollers, i.e. gamblers who can afford to wager very large sums of money in a single night.
Top Golf Courses in Las Vegas
Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort (USD 69 to 199): Three 18-hole courses situated just 30 minutes northwest of the Las Vegas Strip. Serenely peaceful with awesome panoramic views and boasting a particularly accomplished design. Paiute will have you itching to return for a second round!
Reflection Bay Golf Club
Reflection Bay Golf Club (USD 99 to 225): Exciting course along Lake Las Vegas designed by Jack Nicklaus. Includes a large number of water hazards; so be sure to pack some extra golf balls.
Bali Hai Golf Club
Bali Hai Golf Club (USD 69 to 239 USD): The only golf course on the Las Vegas Strip and oozing with the city’s unique ambience. A jaw-dropping 4200 palm trees were planted on the course. With the airport located nearby, the noise of helicopters and airplanes flying above the course is constant, so things can get loud and hectic at times.
