A Party Island Brimming with Mediterranean Charm

Ibiza is considered the epicentre for party revellers. But the westernmost Balearic island is more than just clubs and discotheques. It also happens to be a great family holiday destination.

Starting with the obvious: Ibiza is renowned for its parties and clubs to suit every taste. Founded in 1973, the “Pacha“ was the first “super club“ on the island. The iconic “Amnesia” club is another tourist magnet and widely regarded as the cradle of Balearic dance music.

Best beaches in Ibiza: For beach babes and hippie girls

Partying is not reserved for after dark in Ibiza. By the afternoon, many beach bars will have transitioned into clubs. When it comes to beaches, Ibiza has it all, including magnificent sandy beaches, rugged bays, Ibiza City in the south, San Antonio in the west, Santa Eulalia in the east and Portinatx in the north.

The island capital of Eivissa –better known as Ibiza Town- attracts with Dalt Vila (“Upper Town”), its most beautiful landmark. The markets on the island are hugely popular and, since temperatures are frequently mild and spring-like, some are held throughout the year. During the summer months, visitors are primarily drawn to the famous hippie markets.

For the ultimate adrenaline rush

Action lovers are also well served in Ibiza. Jet skiing, fly boarding and parasailing are just some of the thrill-inducing activities on offer. A special highlight awaits youngsters in San Antonio: “Ocean Mania“ is an inflatable water park in the sea. Boat trips are also highly recommended - to Formentera, for instance, situated off the coast of Ibiza and a haven for nature lovers, scuba divers and snorkelers. Indeed, there’s far more to Ibiza than clubbing and partying!
