2024 summer timetable: Edelweiss with more flights on short and medium-haul routes
· Service to Spain to be significantly expanded
· Up to 23 flights per week to the booming destinations in Northern Europe
· In Greece, the most popular destinations will now be served at least daily
Edelweiss is optimising its short and medium-haul network and increasing the number of flights, in some cases significantly. Edelweiss is also offering an even more attractive flight schedule at weekends and over the spring holidays. The Canary Islands, for example, will benefit from more flights, especially in spring and autumn. There are now up to eleven flights a week to Gran Canaria, up to ten weekly flights to Tenerife and up to five to Fuerteventura. The offer to Lanzarote remains stable with three weekly flights, while La Palma will once again be served non-stop in spring.
The range of flights to popular city destinations on the Spanish mainland will also be strengthened, enabling attractive weekend breaks: Seville will be served by up to six weekly flights, Bilbao by up to five and Santiago de Compostela by three. Flights to Menorca on the Balearic Islands will be increased to four to five a week, while Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza will each be served up to nine times a week.
Significantly more flights to the north
Those who prefer the northern climes can look forward to up to ten flights a week to Edinburgh in Scotland; the frequency to Newquay (Cornwall) will be doubled to two weekly flights. The number of weekly flights to Keflavík will be increased to five, and Akureyri will now be served continuously from June to August. Norway is also one of the most popular destinations. As already announced, Edelweiss will be flying once a week to Evenes in the Lofoten Islands from June. There will still be two weekly flights to Bergen and the number of flights to Tromsø will be increased from two to three per week.
Greece with continued very high demand
Greece will see the biggest expansion in the 2024 summer timetable. There will be up to 17 new flights a week to Heraklion on Crete. That is five more frequencies than before. There will also be three instead of two weekly connections to Chania. Corfu will be increased from four to five flights, Zakynthos from three to four. Daily flights to Kos and Rhodes have finally been added to the programme, and Kalamata will be increased by one frequency to three in spring. The number of flight days to Skiathos and Preveza/Lefkada will be improved.
North Africa with major expansion
The programme to Morocco will be significantly expanded: Agadir will be served non-stop up to twice a week for the first time and Marrakesh up to five times a week. In spring, additional flights will be offered to Djerba in Tunisia, now totalling three per week. Egyptian destinations are also being expanded: Sharm El Sheik and Marsa Alam will now be served up to four times a week, Hurghada up to 16 times and Luxor will continue to be served once a week in spring.
Further destinations with expanded services
With up to nine new weekly flights to Antalya, three to Bodrum and one to Dalaman, Edelweiss is also offering a comprehensive flight programme to destinations in Turkey. Cyprus can now look forward to up to two daily flights to Larnaca.
The Italian destinations of Bari with five new flights, Catania with up to eight, Lamezia Terme and Olbia with up to six and Cagliari with up to five weekly flights also offer an attractive programme.
In Portugal, there are now five flights a week to Faro throughout the season, up to five flights a week to Funchal and two flights a week to Ponta Delgada in the Azores. At Biarritz, the season will be extended from June to September and at the same time the flight days will be improved to Wednesdays and Saturdays. The season to Figari in Corsica will also be extended: this holiday destination will now be served from May to September.
Pristina in Kosovo will continue to be served eleven times a week and Tivat in Montenegro twice. Ohrid in North Macedonia will now be served three times a week, Skopje up to four times.
