Edelweiss flies to Jordan for the first time

First flight to Amman and Aqaba in Jordan took place on Thursday, February 2. Two flights per week from Zurich. Gate event with ceremonial ribbon cut.

Edelweiss celebrated its first flight to Amman and Aqaba in Jordan this Thursday. Edelweiss celebrated this special event with the traditional ribbon cut. Together with the crew, Patrick Heymann, Chief Commercial Officer of Edelweiss, Rolf Hancock, Vice President Aviation Development of Zurich Airport and Michael Schmidli, Operation Manager of Swissport, proceeded to cut the ribbon. Patrick Heymann commented: "I am delighted that we have included Jordan in our flight schedule. Jordan is a unique vacation destination and an ideal destination if you are looking for historical cult sites such as the rock city of Petra, tranquil natural beauty and attractive diving sites."

The Airbus A320 departed on time for its inaugural flight. Until the end of June and again starting in the fall, Edelweiss will fly to Amman and on to Aqaba every Thursday and Sunday. Edelweiss flies to 68 destinations on short- and medium-haul routes and 21 destinations on long-haul routes.
