New holiday destinations and significantly larger long-haul offering for winter 2021/22

  • Liberia in Costa Rica and Luxor in Egypt added to the route network
  • Colombo, Phuket, Havana, Cape Town and Mauritius to be served again
  • First flights to Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Muscat and the Cape Verde Islands

Edelweiss will reintroduce the destinations Colombo (Sri Lanka), Phuket and Havana into its programme with the start of the winter flight schedule on 31 October 2021. The new holiday destinations Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar in Tanzania will be flown to for the first time from the beginning of October. Edelweiss will also be flying to Cape Town in South Africa and Mauritius again at that time. And now that Oman has reopened its borders to vaccinated tourists, Edelweiss can also fly to Muscat for the first time.

The proven Caribbean programme with San José (Costa Rica), Punta Cana and Cancún will be supplemented by Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and Montego Bay in Jamaica. New flights will be offered to Liberia in Costa Rica. In the Indian Ocean, the popular destinations Maldives and Seychelles remain a fixed component of the Edelweiss flight programme.

Luxor expands the variety of destinations in Egypt

The range of services to and from Egypt will be expanded over the winter. Starting in December, Edelweiss will be flying once a week to the historic city of Luxor on the east bank of the Nile. The seaside holiday destinations Marsa Alam and Sharm El Sheik will be served several times a week, and Hurghada daily.

Edelweiss has been flying to Reykjavik/Keflavik since summer 2021. This fascinating destination will also be served again from December. For lovers of warmer temperatures, Edelweiss flies continuously every Saturday morning to Ibiza. Seville, Faro and Funchal will also be served several times a week over the winter.

In Italy, Catania and Lamezia are served every Friday and Sunday from Zurich. Further south, there is a choice of two holiday destinations in Morocco, Marrakesh and Agadir. Edelweiss will fly to Sal in Cape Verde for the first time on 1 November 2021.

Edelweiss' short-haul programme is rounded off with popular holiday destinations on the Canary Islands: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Palma will all be served several times a week.

The flights can be booked now on flyedelweiss.com and through all the usual sales channels.

If renewed entry restrictions require an adjustment of the flight schedule, this will be communicated promptly. To ensure that travel can still be planned without worry, Edelweiss continues to guarantee flexible and free rebooking options.
