Edelweiss Adds Three New Holiday Destinations to Its Winter Timetable

Edelweiss will operate flights to 25 short-haul and medium-haul holiday destinations in 11 countries this winter, with a special focus on popular Canary Island and Red Sea destinations. The airline’s winter timetable will also introduce direct flights from Zurich to Agadir (Morocco), Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) and Sal (Cape Verde).

Due to steady beach holiday demand, Edelweiss will offer a wide range of flights to popular destinations in the Atlantic Ocean and on the Red Sea this winter. Flights to the Canary Islands (Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, Tenerife) will be available throughout the winter season, with up to 24 direct services a week. The airline’s holiday destinations in Egypt (Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Sharm El Sheikh) will be served with up to 13 direct flights a week.

Patrick Heymann, Chief Commercial Officer of Edelweiss: “Swiss travellers are booking their holidays at shorter notice now than in the past. What is more, typical beach holiday destinations are just as popular in the winter season. A reliable tourist infrastructure and high health security standards are especially important to us at this time.”

Three new holiday destinations: Agadir, Sharm El Sheikh and Sal (Cape Verde)

Starting from 1st October 2020, Edelweiss will offer a weekly direct flight to Agadir. Boasting three hundred days of sunshine a year, a year-round mild and dry climate and beaches that stretch for miles, Agadir, on Morocco’s southern Atlantic coast, is not only a sought-after beach holiday destination but also a great choice for golfers, with numerous golf courses on offer in the region.

From 2nd October 2020, Edelweiss will operate twice-weekly direct flights from Zurich to Sharm El Sheik. Featuring year-round summer weather, warm sea temperatures and an impressive underwater world, Sharm El Sheikh ticks all the boxes for a fabulous beach holiday.

Starting from 26th October 2020, Edelweiss will serve the Cape Verdean island of Sal with one weekly flight from Zurich. The Cape Verde islands in the Atlantic Ocean are a holiday paradise for nature enthusiasts and water sports fans alike. Visitors can expect a wonderfully intoxicating combination of miles-long white sandy beaches, agreeable temperatures and almost year-round sunshine.

Flights to all of the mentioned destinations are available for booking now, at flyedelweiss.com and via the usual sales channels.
