The “Edelweiss Café” Is Now Open in Zurich Airport

Edelweiss, Switzerland’s leading leisure travel airline, is delighted to announce the opening of the “Edelweiss Café” at Zurich Airport, so that guests can now enjoy the airline’s warm hospitality on home soil as well as above the clouds. The new café is a collaboration with Autogrill Schweiz and provides the perfect space to meet, share and be inspired.

The light and modern “Edelweiss Café” is located in front of the boarding pass control in Zurich Airport’s Check-in 1 and provides the ideal space to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat before travelling, or to say goodbye to one’s loved ones. The café’s menu includes a wide choice of beverages and culinary highlights, which are modelled on the flavours of the holiday destinations served by Edelweiss. “Mykonos Salad”, “Edinburgh Quiche” and “Ciabatta Rio” are just some of the dishes on offer and a great way to set the holiday mood. The “Edelweiss Café” offers comfortable seating for 100 guests and also features a modern bar. Dozens of integrated power sockets make sure travellers can charge their electronic devices before travel.

The “Edelweiss Café” is run in close collaboration with Autogrill Schweiz. Maximilian Schiedt, Chief Operating Officer of Autogrill Schweiz: “We are excited to collaborate with Edelweiss and to be a part of the ‘Edelweiss Café’. Our promise is to serve the best Italian coffee in Zurich Airport.”

“The new ‘Edelweiss Café’ is an oasis in Zurich Airport, designed as a venue of emotions and to set the holiday mood,” says Patrick Heymann, Chief Commercial Officer of Edelweiss. “Our guests can immerse into the world of Edelweiss as they watch breathtaking videos of our lovely destinations shown on the cafés extra-large screen. The décor also includes various display cabinets showcasing a host of original holiday souvenirs for guests to admire and marvel at. The café is a place to escape the daily grind and to delve into a holiday atmosphere.”

The new “Edelweiss Café” is open from 4.30 am to 9 pm, 365 days a year, for all Zurich Airport visitors. Guests with a boarding pass for an Edelweiss flight will receive a 10% discount on their order on the day of their flight, until the end of March 2020.
