Jerez de la Frontera

Jerez de la FronteraSpain

Sherry, horses and plenty of sunshine

Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia is known for two things: fortified wine and horses. The town is the cradle of Spanish sherry. Accordingly, some of its main attractions are sherry bodegas that offer guided tours and sherry tastings.

Nestled between the sea and the mountains, Jerez de la Frontera is no distance from the Costa de la Luz where lovely beach holidays can be enjoyed – in Cádiz, the capital of the province, for instance, which is less than a thirty-minute drive from Jerez. The "coast of light" attracts beach lovers and also surfers with 300 sunny days a year. If you want to go a little further, take the car to the Costa del Sol, the "Coast of the Sun", towards Marbella and Málaga.
