Corfu

CorfuGreece

Sea, town, countryside

Corfu is justifiably referred to as “The Green Island”. Greece’s second-largest Ionian island attracts visitors with lovely beaches, historic towns and, most notably, with impressive nature. Featuring olive groves, cypresses and a seemingly infinite number of orchids, hikers will find this green oasis hard to resist.

Besides the diverse nature, Corfu’s stunning beaches offer plenty of spots for sun worshippers and bathing buffs, for example the gently-shelving pebble beach of Ipsos entices with crystal-clear water. Hence if you need a change from sunbathing, you should at least take a day trip to the capital Corfu City, which is called "Kerkyra" by the locals and has a lot of interesting sights to offer.
