A City for Culture Lovers, Sun Worshippers and TV Series Fans
Dubrovnik in southern Croatia is referred to as the “Pearl of the Adriatic” for good reason. Ideally suited for family and beach holidays, this city on the Dalmatian coast is also a “must-see” for history and culture buffs.
The entire ancient city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Numerous historical buildings line the main street “Stradun”. The more than one-mile long, walkable city wall is one of the most important landmarks and includes five fortresses. One of them, Lovrijenac, served as a location for filming “Game of Thrones”. Many scenes of this American fantasy drama television series were shot in Dubrovnik and city tours are on offer accordingly.
