Fantastically situated, the small town of Dalaman is also a great point of departure for excursions. Lovers of the sea are likely to book a “Blue Journey“ and cruise along the coast from cove to cove in a traditional wooden gullet boat. Some of the coves can in fact only be reached by boat. The Taurus Mountains offer a slice of paradise to hikers and climbers. Arguably one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Europe, the Lycian Way is approximately 335 miles long and stretches from Fethiye to Hisarcandir near Antalya along beaches, coastal paths and mountain trails.

Pure unadulterated nature or dancing the night away

Dalaman’s places of interest include a host of ancient sites, such as the ruins of the ancient city of Kaunos. The town of Dalyan is known for its large conservation area that also encompasses a breeding ground for loggerhead sea turtles. The seaside resort of Marmaris is home to various open air clubs and a hotspot for night owls. The region’s Mediterranean climate translates into pleasantly dry summers and mild winters thus providing plenty of opportunities to dance the night away alfresco.
