Declared Canada's first national park in the 1880s, this protected area in the Rocky Mountains is famous for its crystal blue mountain lakes. Lake Louise with the Victoria Glacier in the background is a popular photo subject, but the area is also home to a large number of animals. With a little luck you will encounter grizzly bears, moose, waptitis, lynx & co. In addition, more than 250 species of birds have been sighted in the park so far and contribute to the magical spectacles of nature. From Calgary, you can reach the national park by a one and a half hour drive.
