Experience culture

Intricately adorned with stucco and mosaic, the Ben Youssef Madrasa is one of Marrakesh’s most beautiful landmarks. The Qur’anic school founded in the fourteenth century is today a museum. The Koutoubia Mosque, Marrakesh’s landmark, is less than a mile away and most definitely worth a visit. Standing 253 feet (77 m) tall, the Mosque’s minaret is visible from almost everywhere in the city.

Oasis in the city

Marrakesh’s many gardens offer a perfect refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. A visit to the Jardin Majorelle will soon reveal why the legendary fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent fell in love with this place. The extraordinary diversity of exotic plants, set against pots and walls painted in vivid Majorelle blue, creates a very special atmosphere. The “Paradis du Safran“ is equally fascinating: besides precious saffron spice, mangoes and avocadoes are cultivated in this delightful spot. Visitors interested in traditional Moroccan bread making can attend one of the many cookery courses on offer in Marrakesh. What a great way to take a piece of Morocco back home with you!
