Dynamically changing entry regulations

Various countries are currently putting entry regulations into place for passengers. Covid-19 entry restrictions are not aligned and differ from country to country and can change at short notice. Edelweiss therefore asks all passengers to urgently check the current travel and entry limitations of their final destination with the relevant Embassy. Please be also aware of Switzerlands newly adjusted entry regulations due to Covid-19.

Please refer to the Travel Hotline information for Covid-19 travel information further down this page if you have any questions regarding entry.;;;;;;As planning is still dependent on the entry restrictions of the respective countries, the flight schedule is always adjusted promptly to the current Covid-19 developments. To ensure that your journey can still be planned without worry, Edelweiss continues to guarantee flexible and free rebooking options.

Entry regulations into Switzerland

Stricter regulations for entering Switzerland have been in force since 22th February 2021. Below you will find all the relevant information that applies to air travellers.

Requirements since 22th February 2021

Since 22th February 2021, the following stricter requirements apply to people entering Switzerland:

  • All travellers older than 12 years of age must submit proof of a negative PCR test result before flying to Switzerland. At the time of departure, the test result may not be older than 72h and must be presented at the check-in or at the gate in the departure country. Also accepted for the flight to Switzerland is a negative result of a Covid-19 antiGen rapid test, which must not be older than 24h (from the time of the test) at the time of departure. Please note that in this case another test must be done immediately after entering Switzerland (PCR or antiGen test). A list of all exceptions to the testing requirement can be found below.
  • The document with the test result must contain the following information: Surname, first name and date of birth of the tested person; date and time of sampling; the type of testing ("PCR" test or "antigen" rapid test); the test result itself.
  • In addition, all travellers must complete the electronic form for incoming travellers.
  • Travellers entering Switzerland from countries and areas with a high risk of infection must undergo a 10-day quarantine upon their arrival in Switzerland. Find detailed information on the quarantine requirements and the current FOPH list of risk countries under the links below.
  • Please note that due to the new regulations, you will only receive a confirmation when checking in online for flights to Switzerland. All passengers will receive their boarding pass at the check-in counter. We recommend that you allow for sufficient time and inform yourself in advance about the type of mask that must be worn on board.
