Dynamically changing entry regulations

Various countries are currently putting entry regulations into place for passengers. Covid-19 entry restrictions are not aligned and differ from country to country and can change at short notice. Edelweiss therefore asks all passengers to urgently check the current travel and entry limitations of their final destination with the relevant Embassy. Switzerland

As of 29 October 2020, new regulations will apply to people entering Switzerland:;;;;;;The quarantine obligation does not apply to most countries.;;;;;;For further information, please visit the website of the FOPH (Federal Office of Public Health). Please note that the list is updated regularly.

Covid-19 entry restrictions of particular countries

Below you will find the latest entry requirements for those countries which will be flown to in the next four weeks (subject to change). The information is not exhaustive. The regulations of the respective countries can also be changed and adapted at any time.

With immediate effect, there are new rules for passengers coming into Catania (Sicily). 1. It is recommended that travellers will fill out the online form until 24h prior to departure. Additionally, passengers have to wear a surgical mask while boarding, deboarding and at the terminal. Passenger wearing fabric masks are not permitted for immigration. 2. From December 10th onwards, entry into Italy and therefore also into South Tyrol from all EU countries, Switzerland and Great Britain is forbidden, unless a negative PCR or antigen test can be shown.

Please note the current entry requirements for Costa Rica: 1. Masks must be worn on the entire airport premises (face shields alone are not allowed). 2. A valid insurance with amount that covers COVID hospitalisation in case it would be necessary. 3. Travellers need to fill out below online form before arrival in San José (SJO).

Please note the current entry requirements for Cuba: 1. masks are required on the entire airport area 2. for all travellers, body temperature is measured upon arrival 3. as of January 10th, 2021, all passengers (including infants and children) need to have negative Covid-19 PCR test (not older than 72 h) 4. All travellers will be subjected to an additional PCR test upon arrival

With immediate effect, there are new rules for passengers coming into Dominican Republic. Travelers are required to fill out the online form before departure.

Online form Dominican Republic

Since 1st September 2020, guests arriving in Egypt from Switzerland will be required to provide a negative Covid-19 test (PCR test), done within 72h of arrival in Egypt (children under 6 years of age are exempted). A Covid-19 Test can be done as well at arrival in Egypt for a fee of 30 USD. In case of a positive result, the passenger can either quarantine in their hotel at no additional charges (at the expense of the hotel). Marsa Alam: All arriving passengers, who will achieve the Covid-19 test upon their arrival at Marsa Alam Airport must bring a hard copy of their passport (Photo Page).

With immediate effect, there are new rules for passengers coming into Faro. Travellers must fill out the online form before departure. Please note, that the online form can only be filled out after check-in process is completed.

All Passengers (expect for children under 12 years old) disembarking Madeira Region Airports who don't provide at their arrival a negative Covid-19 Test (PCR test), done within 72h prior flight schedule will be subject to a free test. All passengers must complete a travel registration. Please fill out below online form.

Persons entering Germany from a country or area with increased risk of infection are legally mandated to go into a 14-days quarantine. Please find general entry regulations into Germany under following link:

Public Health Office

Since July 1st 2020, the Greek government requires that all travellers complete a "Passenger Locator Form" (PLF) at least 24h before flight departure, providing detailed information on their point of departure, the duration of previous stays in other countries, and the address of the stay while in Greece. Find the form and more information under following link: Passenger Locator Formular. Please note that this link currently only works in Firefox or Chrome (not in Internet Explorer).

Important notices:

- Passengers failing to provide the QR code upon arrival to the Greek authorities are subject to a fine of EUR 500.
- Greek authorities require the airlines to verify QR code and refuse transportation if passenger cannot provide it.

Online form Greece

Please note the current entry requirements for Italy: 1. All travelers to/from Italy must complete the "Health Declaration Form" (see link below). 2. Face masks: Italian authorities allow passengers only to wear surgical masks or FFP2/FFP3 masks (without valve). No fabric masks are permitted. The regions Apulia, Calabria, Sardinia and Sicily have made available an online registration form to be completed before arrival. After successful completion, passengers receive an electronic receipt, which must be shown upon departure and/or arrival. You will find the online form for the above mentioned destinations under the respective destination. 3. From December 10th onwards, entry into Italy and therefore also into South Tyrol from all EU countries, Switzerland and Great Britain is forbidden, unless a negative PCR or antigen test can be shown.

Please note the current entry requirements for Kosovo (applies to adults only): 1. All travellers with Kosovar nationality or residence permit can enter without a negative PCR test result. However, travellers must go into quarantine immediately after arrival. When entering the country, they must already provide proof of the place where they will spend the quarantine (e.g. family, friends, hotel, etc.). 2. All travellers without Kosovar nationality need a negative PCR test result (not older than 72 hours) for entry if they come from a country on the red list (such as Switzerland).

Additionally passengers have to wear a surgical mask while boarding, deboarding and at the terminal. Passenger wearing fabric masks are not permitted for immigration. 3. From December 10th onwards, entry into Italy and therefore also into South Tyrol from all EU countries, Switzerland and Great Britain is forbidden, unless a negative PCR or antigen test can be shown.

Online form Lamezia

With immediate effect, there are new rules for passengers coming into the Maldives. Travellers (children under 1 year are exempted) have to provide a negative Covid-19 Test (PCR test), done within maximum 96h prior entering the country. The PCR test result should be presented in paper or electronic form during airline check-in and if required at arrival. Additionally, travellers will need to fill out the online form before arrival at Maldives and 24h before departure from their origin airport.

Please note the current entry requirements for flights to Mauritius: 1. Travellers must present at their arrival in Mauritius a negative Covid-19 test, not older than 5 days at the moment of arrival. 2. Travellers must present at the immigration a printed and filled out version of the "Public Health Covid-19 Passenger self declaration Form" and "Public Health Locator. "href="https://health.govmu.org">https://health.govmu.org 3. Travellers must present a confirmed return-ticket. 4. Travellers need a confirmed booking in a from the Ministry of Toursim designated hotel. At the arrival in the hotel, travellers have to go into quarantine for 14 days but are able to move around in the hotel area.

Online forms Mauritius

There are no rules regarding entry restrictions for flights to Mexico.

Please note the current entry requirements for Morocco: Travellers (children under 11 years are exempted) have to provide a negative Covid-19 Test (PCR test), done within maximum 72h prior entering the country.

There are no rules regarding entry restrictions for flights to North Macedonia.

Please note the current entry requirements for the Islands of Seychelles: As per 16th November 2020, Switzerland is classified as a "Category 2" country. 1. All travellers (including infants and children) must provide a negative Covid-19 test (PCR test), which must be taken maximum 48h before departure.
2. The authorities do ask for a registration on https://seychelles.govtas.com or via the mobile app *Seychelles Travel Authorization*. A  confirmation / QR Code will be received. The registration can also be done shortly before departure by selecting “URGENT” on the registration process.
3. Passengers who can't provide a negative Covid-19 test result at check-in will not be accepted to fly.
4. A valid travel insurance covering the entire duration of stay in Seychelles is a must.
5. Booking vouchers reflecting the entire duration of stay in a licensed and Safe Tourism Certified establishment and liveaboard must be presented at Immigration upon arrival to Seychelles.  A list of the corresponding hotels for category 2 can be found here: List of all Covid-19 health certified tourism businesses.

6. Visitors from Category 2 countries are required to spend the first (6) six nights in a designated establishment and may not leave the premises and must strictly adhere to all the conditions in place at the establishment.
7. A repeat PCR test will be performed on the 5th day. If the test result is negative, the visitors will be free to continue with their planned holiday and follow terms and conditions outlined as per the Category 1 permitted countries. If the test result is positive, they will be required to stay in a designated hotel until cleared by the Public Health Authority.

The COVID19 test must not be older than 72h upon arrival. The negative test result must be presented in paper or electronic form in Spanish or English. In addition, the online form below must be filled out and the QR code must be presented upon entry.

Please note the current entry requirements for Spain. As of November 23, 2020, all travelers (excluding children under 6 years of age) must present a negative COVID19 PCR test for entry into Spain. The COVID19 test must not be older than 72h upon arrival. The negative test result must be presented in paper or electronic form in Spanish or English. In addition, the online form below must be filled out and the QR code must be presented upon entry.

Regulations for flights from Zurich to South Africa: 1. Passengers arriving in South Africa are subject to medical screening and must install COVID Alert South Africa mobile app. 2. Passengers without a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) test result issued at most 72 hours before departure are subject to quarantine at their own expense. This does not apply to passengers younger than 5 years. 3. In addition, masks are compulsory on the entire airport site.

Regulations for flights from South Africa to Zurich: 1. Only the following persons may be carried as passengers from Cape Town to Zurich: Swiss nationals (incl. nationals from Liechtenstein), Holders of a residence permit or a D visa issued by Switzerland, Holders of a "laissez-passer" issued by a Swiss representation who fulfil the entry requirements currently in force. 2. The required documents (passports/visas) will be checked at the check-in in Cape Town. 3. Passengers who do not fulfil the above-mentioned conditions of carriage are requested to contact the Call Centre. 4. Travellers from South Africa must enter a 10-day quarantine in Switzerland.

More Information for travellers

Please note the current entry requirements for Turkey: Turkish law only allows one (1) hand luggage on board the aircraft. Following items are permitted: Women’s handbag, men’s briefcase, laptop case, baby carrier bag. This is valid for all passengers and for any travel class.

Hotline for Covid-19 travel information

The Checkport call centre provides travellers in Switzerland with telephone information on the applicable Covid-19 entry requirements in transit and destination countries. Specially trained experts provide advice in German, French and English via the chargeable number 0900 734 736 (CHF 2.50/minute) daily from 8 AM to 6 PM (including public holidays). For data protection reasons, calls are not recorded and personal data is not stored.

Health Declaration Card

Passengers travelling to some Edelweiss destinations must complete a separate form ("Health Declaration Card"). This is either already distributed in the aircraft or at the destination airport.
